hey ya'll! well i have to admit that i didn't successfully complete the challenge. I let the last few days go by without really following the rules. it was a lot of fun though, I just got worn out in the end i guess. I would like to try it again in the fall, i think it would be exciting to do in cooler weather.

Hey girls! Sorry it's been a while! But I did successfully complete the challenge this past Monday. It's been very exciting (and overwhelming) to be free to choose clothes from my whole wardrobe again. No joke, I think I just sat and stared at it for like 15 minutes on Tuesday! :) I do have pics of the last few days to post, but I'm just trying to survive school at the moment. I promise I'll post them soon. Honestly, I'm really excited to do this again this summer!

I have to apologize because my camera battery was dead and i didn't get pictures for the past 3 days so all I have are pics from sunday and monday but I pretty much followed the rules for tuesday-thursday but I just didn't get my pics taken...this has gotten really hard for me lately but I've been able to stay with it, I just feel like blah because i'm sick of wearing the same things. I feel like we chose a bad month to do this too because the weather has really been all over the place and that makes it a bit more challenging too!

Soo sunday I didn't get a chance to take my picture. I went to a baby shower dinner at el vaquero and I wore jeans a black tank and my gray cardigan--sorry I didnt get a picture. It was a really plain, boring outfit anyway.

This outfit is from monday and I cheated! I wasn't expecting may to be so freakin rainy and cold so I didn't pick warm tops. So I added this flannel today because I was really cold and didn't want to freeze. But the rest of my outfit was from my picks. You guys understand right?

Monday we had a class at work so that's where I was all morning. Then nick & i were both off so we made fajitas and hung out at home.

I finished school a week ago and started a new job the day before my last final exam. I work full-time at a supplemental education program downtown. I had all my clothes picked out for 30 for 30 and have been wearing them but my camera is broken. "Lens Error." I took it to the repair shop but after having it a few days they told me it would be the same price to fix it than to buy a new one. So even though I wrote down my outfits so I could recreate them and take pics, I can't do it. I'm sad.

A new camera was added to my summer budget (along with a new bike that I'm literally saving all my spare change for b/c I want a fancy bike).

I've been doing our challenge! Think sundresses mixed with cardigans and and long necklaces. I'm not allowed to wear open-toed shoes to work. I picked my 30 pieces before I knew the dress code so I've been wearing the same 2 pairs of flats and Sperries to work everyday!

I hope we can do the summer 30 for 30 with Kendi. Please forgive me girlfriends!

I didn't participate yesterday...I was off work and had to take Elliot to the doctor then she was a sad baby from her shots, so I didn't really change out of my yoga pants and t shirt. I didn't feel so bad after reading Kendi's post either.


As for today, I did work so I was back on track. It was beautiful weather here again. I'm so glad that it's finally getting nice outside.


I wasn't that comfortable in this outfit because I felt like it made me look large in areas but Nick said I looked good and I didn't give myself a lot of time to get ready today so I just went with it.

I can't believe it's already been 10 days- went by pretty fast!

So far I would call my abbreviated summer vacation a success. I'm catching up on some sleep and Tony and I are about half way through the last season of Sopranos. Did you guys ever watch that show? On second thought, maybe don't answer that. I'm hoping we can keep the ending a surprise even though we're about 5 years behind on TV shows. And with as nice as the weather has been here the past few days, maybe I'll even have a tan before the week is up! Here are days 9 and 10.

Today it was soo nice out and I had to go to work :(

Nick took Elli to the zoo with Matt, Katie, Zetta, Lillian, and Nate and I was soooo jealous that I didn't get to go. They had a great time and Nick dressed Elli in her hat and sunglasses and took pictures of her- they're on fbook. She looked so funny!
I'm so happy that it's going to warm up this week!! I'm off work tomorrow so I'm looking forward to getting outside with Nick & Elliot :)

ok so these outfits actually both come from saturday. i followed 30 for 30 today but i failed to take a picture.

we had such a great time in palm springs! saturday morning we went out for breakfast and then went to downtown palm springs to get smoothies. yum! next, we went back to the hotel and spent the rest of the afternoon swimming in the hotel pool and lounging. it was so relaxing and perfect hot weather. we loved it. we went to dinner at the hotel restaurant, ate delish dinner, drank vino, and had the most amazing 3 cheese cheesecake for desert. so. freaking. good.

i loved getting to spend the whole weekend relaxing with peter at the hotel, it was the perfect celebration of 3 years!

word to your mothas!!

Today was special! My first mothers day as a real live mom! We spent the morning laying around and then Nick and Elliot gave me my gift which was a beautiful necklace with a topaz jewel (Elli's birthstone). Then we ate waffles, napped, had a couple friends stop over, and then headed to lunch at texas roadhouse with my mom and sister. After that we headed to Michigan to visit with Nick's mom and family. While at Nick's families house Elli needed a nap and she was fighting it so I layed down with her. This was my favorite part of the whole day- i layed beside her and just stared at my beautiful little baby girl, just me and her, she was sleeping peacefully and all i could do was stare...she's already 6 months old and its flown by. I'm so blessed to have her in my life and I'm so thankful to God for giving her to me and nick. It feels like she's always been here and I can't imagine life without her. When I think about how much goes into making a baby and how perfect everything has to be for it to work it gives me so much joy because I know that God is a miracle worker. Being a mom is THE hardest thing I've ever done but it's also the most amazing privilege. I love being a mom and taking care of her so much...I can't wait for you girls to all experience this some day!! GOD IS GOOD!

So I got to spend some time at my grandparent's house for Mother's Day tonight. We celebrated my wonderful mom and grandma in your typical way - with gifts, blackberry brandy and harmonica playing. Seriously though - they are such strong, amazing women and they love Jesus. I most definitely would not be the same without them. Just got home from work and the baby is napping so i thought i'd jump on here and do my bloggin. Nothing special to report today...its prom/wedding season at work so it's been busy with crazy ladies and updos. It's so different now than it was when i went to prom. We all HAD to get updos and now-a-days girls just want it curled and down, or today there were a lot of curled ponytails. Don't get me wrong i love the styles it's just funny to think back to what we used to do....were getting old i tell ya.

so we made it to palm springs for our 3 year anniversary trip! yay!

it was a really long drive with traffic, but we are so happy to be here. the resort we're staying at is seriously gorgeous. i plan to spend the whole day laying at the amazing pool. Another work day. While taking these pictures today I was dive bombed by the evil bird that has a nest on our house. This same damn bird was here all last summer and made it nearly impossible for us to be in our front yard or get our mail. I don't know why we didn't put a brick or something where it builds its nest before it came back...it's going to be a long summer. We might have to get the bbgun out--just sayin...
